Sale 1262, Lot 19, Autographs and Free Franks, StamplessTompkinsville, Staten Island, Incoming Ship Letters, 1826-37. Three folded letters which arrived in Tompkinsville, Staten Island, as their first port of entry and were marked "Ship", including June 7, 1836 from Mobile Ala. to New York with red "SHIP" handstamp and manuscript Tompkinsville postmark, Aug. 9, 1837 from Cuba to New York, also with Tompkinsville manuscript postmark and manuscript "Ship", ink bleed from contents into front of cover, third is undated but circa 1826 to Haddam Conn., Tompkinsville manuscript postmark and matching "Ship", slight soiling, overall Very Fine trio which no doubt represents the majority if not all of the known Tompkinsville ship letters, one ex Hahn
