Intact perfs at left with part of another stamp, minor corner crease, tied by bold strike of blue "GIN" Barrel fancy cancel with matching "Chicago Ill. 7 Oct. 2PM" (1873) circular datestamp on Holden, Tascott & Co. Enamel Paint corner card cover to Oskaloosa Iowa, bold blue "Due 3" circular handstamp, docketing at left, minor cover edge nick and part of backflap removed, Very Fine strike of one of the most distinctive of fancy cancellations used during the Bank Note era; while barrel designs are known from other post offices, including the Oil Barrel of Titusville Pa. and Barrel of Waterbury Conn., the Chicago design is the only known fancy cancel representing a distilled spirit
