10c Black, 1879 Issue, Double Red "Specimen" Ovpt. Ty. D (PR62S-Da). Without gum as issued, clear doubling of the overprint with one slightly displaced from the other, outstanding centering with huge margins, tiny thin spot at bottom is mentioned on certificate but is inconsequentialEXTREMELY FINE APPEARING EXAMPLE OF THE RARE 10-CENT 1879 NEWSPAPER ISSUE WITH DOUBLE "SPECIMEN" OVERPRINT.
This is only the second example we have offered since keeping computerized records 30 years ago and this is the better centered of the two.
