$9.00 1875 Issue, Large Die Trial Color Proofs on India (PR27TC1a). Six of the eleven Scott-listed colors, printed on India paper and die sunk on cards, three cards are approximately 114 x 168mm, three others are cut down to approximately 74 x 76mm (one of these is India mounted on card and not die sunk), bright colors throughoutVERY FINE. A LIKELY UNIQUE SET OF LARGE DIE TRIAL COLOR PROOFS FOR THE $9.00 1875 NEWSPAPER ISSUE.
Each example of nearly all of these colors is believed to be unique. The National Postal Museum reportedly has second examples in Scarlet and Black. Scott value of $600.00 each seems very conservative for this level of rarity.
