$6.00 1875 Issue, Large Die Trial Color Proofs on India (PR26TC1a). Ten total proofs, including nine of the eleven Scott-listed colors plus unlisted Dark Brown, missing only the Light Blue and Dark Carmine, printed on India paper and die sunk on cards, nine cards are approximately 114 x 168mm, the Black on smaller 69 x 77mm card, gorgeous colors throughoutVERY FINE. A LIKELY UNIQUE SET OF LARGE DIE TRIAL COLOR PROOFS FOR THE $6.00 1875 NEWSPAPER ISSUE.
Each example of nearly all of these colors is believed to be unique. The National Postal Museum reportedly has second examples in Dull Orange and Dark Violet. Scott value of $600.00 each seems very conservative for this level of rarity.
