Used with 2c Brown (157) and 6c Dull Pink (159), 2c straight edge, tied by Yokohama circle of wedges cancel, clear "Yokohama Japan Mar. 10" (1874) circular datestamp on cover to Paul Ozier, St. Etienne, France, Wachtels & Co. imprint on flap, sender's directive "via San Francisco Per Overland Route"--carried on PMSS Alaska, departing Yokohama Mar. 10, 1874, arriving San Francisco Apr. 3--"San Francisco Cal. Apr. 4" double-circle datestamp on back, red "New York Paid to England Apr. 11" datestamp ties 12c, Calais arrival datestamp (Apr. 23) ties 2c, "10" decimes due and "GB/40c" Anglo-French accountancy handstamps, Paris and St. Etienne backstamps, prepaid for 10c U.S.-Japan and 10c British Mail rates to France, but sent by British Open Mail at the 4c rate, small nick at top, otherwise Very Fine, with Holcombe and Eichhorn certificates
