Sep. 22" circular datestamp on back--carried on the Cunarder Asia, departing Boston Sep. 22, 1858, and arriving Liverpool Oct. 4--red "London BA OC 4 58" backstamp, manuscript "1/2" 1sh2p debit marking, "Hong-Kong 24 NO 1858" receiving backstamp, Nov. 24 receipt docketing at top, pressed vertical fold at right clear of stamp, lightly cleaned, Very Fine, the U.S.-Japan Treaty of Amity and Commerce was signed on the Powhatan on July 29, 1858, ex Rohloff and Klein, with 1977 P.F. certificate
