Sale 1245, Lot 1793, 1910-13 Washington-Franklin Issue (Scott 374-396)2c Carmine, Coil (386). Pair, deep rich color, excellent centering with wide margins, three strikes of Washington D.C. circular datestamp cancel

VERY FINE AND CHOICE. AN EXTREMELY RARE CENTERED, SOUND USED PAIR OF THE 2-CENT VERTICAL COIL, SCOTT 386. THIS IS ONE OF THE RAREST WASHINGTON-FRANKLIN STAMPS IN GENUINELY USED CONDITION.

We have offered only a handful of used pairs or line pairs of Scott 386 during the past 30 years. While a couple were sound, none were comparable to the pair offered here in terms of overall centering. The "Natalee Grace" collection's pair and line pair, both with Fine centering, each realized more than $5,000 hammer in Sale 1028.

With 2021 P.F. certificate. The Scott value of $375.00 for a used pair is irrelevant and bears no relation to the true value of a pair with a genuine contemporary cancel and in sound condition
