VERY FINE APPEARANCE. THIS IS THE ONLY EXAMPLE OF THE 5-CENT 1856 ISSUE WITH THE YANKEE JIM'S DATESTAMP CANCEL. EXAMPLES USED FROM ANY POST OFFICE OTHER THAN NEW ORLEANS OR NEW YORK ARE SCARCE, AND THIS PAIR FROM THE WEST COAST IS RARE.
