FINE-VERY FINE APPEARANCE. THIS IS THE LARGEST RECORDED MULTIPLE OF THE 5-CENT 1856 ISSUE SHOWING THE IMPRINT. A MARVELOUS SHOWPIECE.

Our comprehensive census records contain only fourteen examples of this issue showing any trace of the imprint. Only two are known from this position, which also has the distinction of having a double transfer. Plate varieties are virtually unseen in this uniform stamp, the most notable being the defective transfer.
