3c Dull Red, Type II (11A). Applied to top right of cover with stamp corners wrapped around edge, an attempted use of demonetized 1851 Issue, not accepted for postage and 2c Black (73) applied slightly overlapping, both stamps tied by Shield fancy cancel with "Cambridge Mass. Sep. 9" (circa 1865) circular datestamp and manuscript "Due 1" on small narrow cover to Lowell Mass., "Box 469" notation at bottom, Very Fine appearance, a wonderful and rare combination of stamps, the 3c stamp was not accepted for postage and the postage was paid with a combination of the 2c Black Jack and cash (or possibly a charge box), the double-postage penalty ended on May 1, 1865, so this attempted use was at least four years after demonetization
