Jul. 3" circular datestamp on cover to an officer of the U.S. 3rd Artillery, care of Quartermaster at San Francisco, pencil "771" post office box notation partly erased, forwarded by military courier to Fort Yuma Cal. with magenta ink naming the fort and crossing out the original address, small cover nick at top, backflap torn and partly missing (Washington House Philadelphia) cameo return card on remaining part of flap, Very Fine appearance, only two covers are recorded carried by the military to Fort Yuma
