FINE APPEARANCE. A RARE EXAMPLE OF THE $1.00 THIRD ISSUE REVENUE WITH INVERTED CENTER. ONE OF THE GREAT REVENUE RARITIES.

In his privately published census, Larry Lyons records a total of 26 copies (five are known outside the census). Of these, a block of five is on the document offered in the following lot and a single is on another document (ex Zoellner, Sale 1000, lot 1324). Of the remaining examples, virtually all have faults and most have poor centering. Some have cut cancels. The example offered here, with a minor corner crease, is very desirable.
