2c Vermilion on Manila, Die 51, Cut Square (W138; UPSS 317). Unused, with top flap of wrapper, 55 x 46mm, intense color and impression, light horizontal creases just above designVERY FINE APPEARANCE. AN EXTREMELY RARE EXAMPLE OF THE 2-CENT VERMILION ON MANILA ISSUE. ONE OF THE GREAT RARITIES OF POSTAL STATIONERY COLLECTING.
We believe one entire is known (ex White), but that it is a Specimen. We also record two full corners and six cut squares including the example offered here with top flap. One has heavy repairs.
