EXTREMELY FINE GEM. AN EXTREMELY RARE JUMBO-MARGINED AND CENTERED ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE ONE-CENT 1861 RE-ISSUE.

The 1c Re-Issue was printed from a new plate of 100 subjects, compared to the original plate of 200 in two panes. 10,000 stamps were printed (100 impressions) and 3,195 of the 1c were sold.

With 2020 P.F. certificate (XF-Superb 95 Jumbo). The populations of Scott 102 with original gum in the P.F. and P.S.E. databases reveal a surprising fact. While there are stamps graded higher by P.S.E. (four at 98), this is the only stamp to receive a Jumbo appellation from either expertizing service at any grade level.
