Large margins to just touched at right, cancelled by red "FREE" handstamp, red "Boyd's City/Express Post/Sep. 12 4 O'C" boxed datestamp on folded letter datelined "Fort Wayne Sept. 2nd 1844" to New York City, stamp with vertical pre-use crease, otherwise Fine, rare use from a midwestern location, there is no indication of a conjunctive use so this may have been carried outside of the mails or inside another envelope from Indiana to New York, only 18 covers have been reported by Larry LeBel, accompanied by 1952 invoice and note from George Sloane
