5c Green, Stone 1-2 (1). Horizontal pair, large top sheet margin, other sides large to barely in at upper right, rich color, tied by "Darlington S.C. May 3" circular datestamp on buff cover to William Henry Gist at Columbia S.C., docketing at left indicates money was enclosed, missing backflap, Very Fine, Gist was Governor of South Carolina from 1858-60 and was a signer of the Ordinance of Secession on Dec. 20, 1860
