Red circular datestamp on small cover to Rochester N.Y., bold "San Francisco Cal. 12 Jun. 11 1861" circular datestamp, with original enclosure which mentions "Our intelligence from St. Louis comes though per Pony Express - in a very short time - our latest dates being April 15, less than a month - What an improvement on the old Cape Horn system", missing part of top flap and opened at sides, still Very Fine
