Feb. 28" (1853) circular datestamp on blue folded letter from Shreveport La. to Natchez Miss. clear strike of red negative double-circle "Steamer Compromise" handstamp, bold "WAY" handstamp, Very Fine, a lovely cover with this scarce name-of-boat handstamp, the Compromise was built in 1851 and ran the New Orleans to Natchitoches route on the lower Mississippi River.
