PHILIPPINES, 1943, 2c Blue, Free Philippines Guerrilla Postal Service (Unlisted). Two, tied by purple oval "Posted in the Free Philippines Mindanao Guerilla Area, M.D. No. 10, 16 MAY 1945" datestamp to Mr. George Mauser in Los Angeles, matching "Tenth Military Dist., Free Philippines, Censored" oval handstamp with small manuscript "w" for for Wendell FertigVERY FINE. A RARE USE OF TWO EXAMPLES OF THE 2-CENTAVO GUERRILLA POSTAL SERVICE ISSUE ON COVER.
During World War II, this stamp was issued for use on the island of Mindanao. Only 500 stamps were printed. 36 covers are known, but many are unaddressed. Accompanied by copy of 1982 American Philatelist article. With 2006 P.F. certificate
