VERY FINE APPEARANCE. THE 30-CENT LORD AND TAYLOR IS ONE OF THE RAREST OF ALL ENCASED POSTAGE ISSUES. ONLY TWO OR THREE ARE KNOWN.

The Ford sale catalogue (Stack's 6/23/2004, lot 552) comments "we believe there are only two of these known and have not seen an auction sale of one since 1988." The Reed census rates it R-9 (2-4 known). Two are offered in this sale.
