12c Intense Black, First Design (59). Original gum called "large part" on accompanying certificate but covers nearly the entire back, outstanding centering with balanced margins all around, deep dark shade and intense impression, tiny thin spot at topEXTREMELY FINE APPEARANCE. ONE OF THE BEST CENTERED EXAMPLES OF THE RARE 12-CENT 1861 FIRST DESIGN WITH ORIGINAL GUM.
