VERY FINE APPEARANCE. A RARE EXAMPLE OF THE 1898 TYPE D PROVISIONAL SURCHARGE ON THE ONE-THIRD BARREL. ONLY TWO ARE RECORDED IN THE PRIESTER CENSUS.

The other recorded example, also with Type 50 surcharge, was offered as lot 658 in the November 8, 1989 Christie's auction of the Weill Brothers stock.
