3c Black, Large Die Trial Color Proof on Thick Glazed Card (65TC1af). 55 x 73mm with albino die no. 441 and imprint at bottom, exceptional impression pops off this type of shiny cardVERY FINE. THIS IS THE ONLY RECORDED 1861 3-CENT BLACK LARGE DIE TRIAL COLOR PROOF ON GLAZED CARD.
There are a variety of trial colors for the 3c 1861 issued design listed in Scott. All but this single example are printed on India paper. Despite that fact, Scott prices this the same as the India paper proofs.
