Horizontal pair, gorgeous centering, deep rich color at the darker end of the Steel Blue spectrum, each tied by red Type A "Supplementary Mail" handstamp on small blue piece with part of Jan. 16, 1862 transit datestampEXTREMELY FINE. A GORGEOUS PAIR OF THE 1861 24-CENT STEEL BLUE TIED ON A PIECE BY THE RED SUPPLEMENTARY MAIL CANCEL. TRULY PHENOMENAL IN EVERY RESPECT.
We are surprised this pair has remained intact, as the 24c Steel Blue shade is difficult to find with such choice centering.
