VERY FINE STRIKE OF THIS RARE AND DESIRABLE FANCY CANCELLATION ON THE 5-CENT 1847 ISSUE.

A comparable example of the Trenton Star on a 5c 1847 (also with small crease) realized $5,000 hammer in our 2012 Mirsky sale (that example is ex Caspary, Haas, Grunin, Garrett and Wall). This stamp realized $5,750 hammer in Christie's 1993 Ishikawa sale.
