Positions 8-10R1L, horizontal strip of three, left and right stamps recut twice at bottom, middle stamp recut once at bottom, large top sheet margin showing plate guide mark at top right, other sides full to barely touched at upper right, tied by two strikes of "San Francisco Cal. 23 May" circular datestamp on buff cover to Benicia Cal., fresh, Very Fine and choice, a beautiful cover with a strip from the top row of the right pane of Plate 1L, in the early state of the plate these positions were Types Ib-Ib-II, with Position 8 being one of the two best Type Ib positions on the plate
