II (20) and tied by clear strike of "PAID" in circle handstamps on buff cover to Downieville Cal., bold strike of "Rome N.Y. Jan. 18, 1858" circular datestamp, minor edgewear, right 3c stamp small fault at top right, otherwise Very Fine, attractive and scarce franking to a Gold Rush town with the 3c Type I stamps
