"Military Institute Franklin Co. Ky. Col. E.W. Morgan, Supt." Two items with strikes of this most unusual fancy handstamp depicting an eagle and draped shield, one on No. 11A struck in black, the strike is complete and apparently cut out of an envelope and pasted onto another cover, stamp defective, second strike in blue on off-cover No. 26, few nibbed perfs at upper left, Fine and rare, accompanied by a typed report from Stanley Ashbrook on the cancel, noting that the 1854 list of post offices includes Military Institute, Franklin Co. Ky.
