1c Blue, Ty. IV (9). Used with three singles of 3c Dull Red, Ty. II (11A), all stamps tied by blue "Cincinnati Ohio Mar. 4" circular datestamps on Spencer House Hotel Cincinnati overall illustrated buff advertising cover to St. Catharines, Canada West, beautiful depiction of horse-drawn carriage and pedestrians in front of the large hotel which is flying an American flag, Grosvenor imprint, also red "Geo. Moore & Co. Spencer House" embossed seal on backflap, red "Ud. States Paid 6d" in arc cross-border exchange office handstamp, manuscript "via Buffalo", backflap tear just extends to front at top, Very Fine, a scarce and beautiful hotel advertising cover to Canada with 1c and 3c 1851 Issue stamps, Spencer House opened in 1853 at a cost of $400,000, it was a prominent establishment until after the Civil War, when it suffered a decline and became a tenement house
