5¢ 1847 Issue mailed on the first day of demonetization and the first day of the new 1851 Issue5¢ Red Brown (1), large margins to full, late impression, tied by red square grid cancel with matching "New-York Jul. 1" (1851) circular datestamp on folded letter datelined June 30, 1851, to Naugatuck, Connecticut, Very Fine and rare use on the first day of demonetization of the 1847 Issue, the stamps were no longer valid for postage beginning July 1 when the new 3¢ rate went into effect and the three initial 1851 stamps were issued, this is one of only three 1847 covers mailed on this date in the USPCS census, ex Hart, Boker and Hackmey, illustrated in Brookman (p. 27)
