5¢ 1847 Issue on a registered cover to Philadelphia with the large "R" handstamp5¢ Brown (1), large margins to full, gorgeous rich color, cancelled by two strikes of blue "PAID" straightline handstamp with matching "Havre de Grace Md. Apr. 11" (ca. 1848-49) circular datestamp on registered folded cover to Philadelphia, blue large "R" (Recorded) handstamp struck on arrival, Very Fine, this early registered mail marking is scarce on 1847 Issue covers (see Chronicle 249 for a discussion and census), a smaller "R" replaced this "R" in October 1849, ex Brown, Matthies, Garrett and Boker
