Running Chicken, Waterbury, Connecticut (Rohloff A-11), clear strike ties 3¢ Ultramarine (114) on cover to Washington, Connecticut, purple 1870 docketing at top, neat "Waterbury Ct. Feb. 19" circular datestamp, right edge of cover and stamp repaired with everything to the right of the "c" of "cents" and top right corner added, the quality of the work is excellent, the Running Chicken strike is original, Very Fine appearance, a rare cover with the famous Running Chicken fancy cancel, from the same correspondence as lot 408 in this sale, which was sent just eight days prior
