10¢ Green, Types II/III/II (14/15/14), vertical strip of three, large margins to ample, deep rich color, tied by two strikes of "New Albany Ind. Nov. 10, 1858" circular datestamp on cover to Florence, Italy, red "N. York Am. Pkt. 7 Paid Dec. 4" 7¢ credit datestamp--carried on the Inman Line City of Baltimore, departing New York December 4, 1858, arriving Liverpool December 15, a British ship under U.S. mail contract--red "AACHEN 14/7 FRANCO" (July 14) framed datestamp, red framed "Franco Preuss:/resp. Vereinsl:AusgGr" handstamp (paid only to limits of German-Austrian Postal Union), blue "P.D." handstamp, forwarder's oval of Maquay & Pakenham on back, partly readable blue "Firenze" backstamp, manuscript "Bajocchi 'Venti'" notation on back, Extremely Fine, the Prussian Closed Mail rate to Italy was 35¢, but this was apparently accepted with 5¢ underpayment, ex Grunin, with 1988 P.F. certificate
