Tied by "Old Point Comfort Va. ? 15" double-circle datestamp on yellow civilian flag-of-truce cover to Claverack N.Y., manuscript "Enclosed is the postage fee from Norfolk Va." and "J.L.M. D. H." examiner's marking, 10c Confederate stamp was removed from the cover at top right (probably at the exchange point) and a replacement is hinged in place (stamp with small faults), cover edge nicks and some wear, otherwise Fine and unusual civilian flag-of-truce use exchanged through Norfolk Va. and Old Point Comfort, with the specific notation that U.S. postage was enclosed, ex Myerson
