Horizontal pair, full to large margins on three sides, in at left, left stamp tiny nick at lower left, bright shade, tied by mostly clear strike of blue "Bowling Green Ky. Jan. 13" (1862) circular datestamp on red and blue Hand-Held 11-Star Confederate Flag Patriotic cover with 7th Alabama Regiment imprint (F11-9), addressed to Hickory Hill Tex., with original letter enclosure datelined "Camp Hardee, Bowling Green Ky. Jany. 10th" containing reference to post office spying: "It might be wrong for me to say any thing of our numbers as this might be examined by some infernal Lincolnite before it reaches you...", mentions death of Col. TerryVERY FINE. ONE OF THE MOST OUTSTANDING CONFEDERATE PATRIOTIC COVERS KNOWN FROM KENTUCKY -- A RARE DESIGN AND ONE OF THE FEW COVERS FROM BOWLING GREEN WITH GENERAL ISSUE STAMPS.
