VERY FINE. A RARE ILLUSTRATED COVER WITH THE MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA, 5-CENT POSTMASTER'S PROVISIONAL AND A REMARKABLE DEPICTION OF A SLAVE AT WORK WITH A DRUGGIST'S MORTAR AND PESTLE.

This is the only illustrated advertising cover with this provisional we have offered since keeping computerized records. The image of a slave performing work is extremely rare and unusual.
