Dec.? 5" circular datestamp on "Grieve & Clark Booksellers & Stationers, Druggists and Pharmacists" overall lithographed advertising cover to C.S.A. Vice President Alexander Stephens in Richmond, usual docketing on back related to an application for a quartermaster position, retains the backflap which is unusual for a Stephens cover, Very Fine and scarce, ex MacBride, Hart and Felton, listed in Crown census on p. 624, accompanied by 1945 letter to MacBride from August Dietz about the cover
