1c Dark Green, Die II, Gray Rough-Surfaced Postal Card (UX27D; USPCC S39). Mint face card, without printed address on front and with Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul & Co. Railway Co. printed form on back, deep dark color with clearly evident Die II characteristics, uncommonly fresh, Very Fine and choice, a highly collectible example of this rare Die II issue, this substandard grade of card was used temporarily, for a period of about two months, they were not sold singly, but were supplied to printers, with 2004 P.F. certificate, Scott Retail for mint card is $22,500.00 and for preprinted (face) $550.00, USPCC catalogue advises that "clean face" cards are valued somewhere between mint and unused
