Oct. 17 2PM 92" duplex datestamp on small green cover to Shanghai, China, bold "25 CTMS T" deficiency marking, also with Japan, 1883, 2s Carmine Rose (73) and 8s Blue Lilac (78), cancelled by rectangular chop, San Francisco and Yokohama backstamps, missing top flap, 5c small scuff at top left, 8c missing top left corner, still Very Fine and scarce use addressed to the U.S.S. Monocacy in Shanghai, this vessel was launched in 1864 and served 37 years in the far east
