Tied by bold strike of segmented cork on legal-size cover originating in Alaska with "Treasury Department, Office of Special Agent, Port of St. Paul, Alaska" imprint, addressed to Mrs. Rhoda A. Barnes in Westerville O., bold "San Francisco Cal. Dec. 15, 1891" circular datestamp with "Ship 2" handstamp, minor edgewear and slightly reduced at left, stamp with slight soiling, still Very Fine and rare, the recipient's husband served in the Civil War and later as special Treasury Agent for Alaska
