HAWAII, 1864, 2c Black (20). Plate 5-C, Type VIII (Westerberg Position 8), large to gigantic margins, 3-ring target cancel applied at Honolulu and 7-bar square grid cancel with matching "Lahaina P.O. Hawaiian-Islands Aug. 27" circular datestamp tying stamp to piece of cover, stamp with some toning, otherwise Extremely Fine, a rare example of Scott 20 on piece -- only two covers are recorded -- by August 1864, when this stamp was used, the National Bank Note Co. 2c Kamehameha IV stamps (Scott 31) were circulating in Hawaii (issued June 1864 and known used as early as August 1864), with 2001 H.P.S. certificate, Scott Retail as used with no premium for the large piece
