VERY FINE APPEARING AND RARE ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 1893 2-CENT ROSE WITH CATEGORY I DOUBLE BLACK PROVISIONAL GOVERNMENT OVERPRINT.

At least two sheets of the 2c Rose were doubly overprinted with Category I strength. A single with a skewed second impression is pictured at www.hawaiianstamps.com, where Fred Gregory notes it is the only one recorded.
