VERY FINE. A RARE ORIGINAL-GUM EXAMPLE OF THE 1893 2-CENT DULL VIOLET WITH INVERTED OVERPRINT.

Only two sheets were overprinted upside down and very few examples of this inverted overprint error are known, either unused or used. The unused example offered here, as well as the used examples offered in the following lot and in our 2009 sale of the Golden collection are the only Scott 57g inverted overprints listed in Power Search.
