EXTREMELY FINE. A RARE AND OUTSTANDING HANDSTAMP-CANCELLED EXAMPLE OF THE IMPERFORATE ONE-CENT PLAYING CARDS ISSUE. VERY RARE IN SUCH PRISTINE CONDITION AND WITHOUT A MANUSCRIPT CANCEL.

The company that used this stamp was founded by businessman and inventor Benjamin T. Babbitt, widely known for his "Babbitt's Best Soap". He was famous for his innovative advertising, was a friend of P. T. Barnum and became a household name in the mid to late 1800's.
