24c Purple, H. Grill (142). Clearly identifiable grill points, choice centering, light pastel shade beautifully contrasted by bold strike of large 5-point Star fancy cancelEXTREMELY FINE. AN OUTSTANDING EXAMPLE OF THE 1870 24-CENT NATIONAL BANK NOTE COMPANY GRILLED ISSUE, COMBINING CHOICE CENTERING AND A FANCY CANCELLATION.
The 24c National Bank Note Company Grilled Issue is not known unused. Brookman estimates that only 2,000 were issued.
