HAWAII, Honolulu * U.S. Postage Paid * Feb. 16. Clear strike of circular datestamp on 1852 cover to Mrs. Mary Knapp in Round Hill Conn., red "San Francisco 6 20 Mar." integral-rate circular datestamp and "PAID" handstamp, cover originally had a 13c Missionary stamp affixed at right, probably a No. 3, carried on the American brig Noble which departed Honolulu Feb. 27, 1852 and arrived San Francisco March 16, mail from this sailing for the east coast was postmarked in San Francisco on March 20, some edgewear, some soiling especially in area where the stamp was originally affixed, Very Fine, the sender is the recipient's brother, Horton Owen Knapp (1813-1845) who arrived in Hawaii as part of the eighth company on the Mary Frasier from Boston on April 9, 1837
