Mint face card, without printed address on front and with Southern Railway Co. printed form on back, fresh and Very Fine, in 1916, during a war-time paper shortage, this substandard grade of card was used temporarily, for a period of about two months, they were not sold singly, but were supplied to printers, Scott Retail for mint card $3,250.00 and for preprinted (face) $625.00, USPCC catalogue advises that "clean face" cards are valued somewhere between mint and unused, with the rarer cards being closer to the mint price
