10c Black (2). Mostly large to huge margins, just tied by blue grids, matching "Nashville Te. Jun. 3" (1848) circular datestamp and blue "R" (Recorded) handstamp on folded letter to Philadelphia, stamp with minute stains entirely confined to margins, Very Fine and choice appearance, the "R" marking was applied to precursor registered mail at Philadelphia, this larger "R" was replaced by the small "R" in October, 1849, ex Rust and Stollnitz, with 1996 P.F. certificate
