5c Red Brown. Full margins to just touched, cancelled by red "5" handstamp, blue "Baltimore Md. May 1" (1850) circular datestamp and matching "R" (Recorded) handstamp on light green folded letter to Philadelphia, manuscript "33" registry number, inside with printed Mechanics Bank of Baltimore letterhead, stamp is slightly oxidized, light file fold passes thru but does not crease the stamp, Very Fine appearance, the "R" marking was applied to precursor registered mail at Philadelphia, this smaller "R" replaced the large "R" in October, 1849, with 2003 P.F. certificate as No. 1b Orange Brown
